ROB WOFFINDEN: RIP
EVERYONE at Peterborough sends their condolences to the family of Rob Woffinden who died on Saturday.

Rob, a former rider and father of newly-elevated Grand Prix regular Tai, had battled cancer for more than a year.

Despite knowing that the illness was terminal he was still a regular at tracks throughout the world, principally following his son’s blossoming career.

Rob bore the pain bravely and cheerfully and was happy that he had lived long enough to know that Tai had been picked as a permanent wild card for the 2010 series.

Panthers co-owner Rick Frost said: “I didn`t know Rob for very long but in the short time I did I spoke to him many times and enjoyed his company and admired his courage facing the inevitable.

“He was, as I say, `a proper man`.My thoughts go out to Tai and his family at this sad time.”

The sentiment is echoed by everyone else at Peterborough Speedway, management, riders and supporters.
