PETERBOROUGH fans have been handed a surprise pre-season gift!
The club’s management have agreed to slash the price of admission to Welcome to 2010 Night, opening the door to more fans to meet the new-look squad.
Originally the pre-season party included a hot buffet but after representations from supporters, the club have decided to dispense with the food.
And this means the admission price drops from £15 to just a fiver!
The event, at the Marriott Hotel on Sunday, March 7, will begin at 7.30 pm and carry on until late with the official unveiling of the 2010 squad and a disco.
Co-owner Julie Mahoney said: “We are always mindful of the views of our supporters and this is one instance when we have listened to fan power!
“We have a number of our most dedicated supporters saying that they could not afford to bring their family along at £15 a head and preferred to eat before coming to the event.
“Because it was a Sunday they said they’d rather have a meal at home than have to pay for a hot buffet on the night.
“We have taken their views into account and decided to restructure the evening as far as the buffet is concerned.
“Any supporters who have already paid £15 for their tickets will get a £10 refund.”
Admission will now be on the door rather than in advance by ticket.
Julie added: “The only thing that has actually changed is that there is no food provided.
“We will have all the riders there, we will be unveiling the new Readypower Panthers livery by way of the team kevlars and bikes.
“After all the formal proceedings in the hotel’s Henry Royce Suite the fans will then have a chance to mingle with the riders and enjoy the music from Sparkarama Disco.
“I’m sure there will be a lot of fans happy with our decision.”
