THE Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Funds has received a surprise boost – from the Quiz Kings of Peterborough!

The three most successful teams at Wednesday night’s Great 2010 Quiz Night all donated their winnings to the Fund.

Troy Batchelor, Adam Roynon, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Lewis Bridger and Kenneth Bjerre were among a healthy gathering at Ebeneezers Club.

And Niels proved to be the pick of the Panthers as he helped his team Jack Daniels and Friends take top spot.

Runners-up – after a tie-breaker – were Norfolk And Chance while Cam Belters, with Lewis helping (or hindering) their cause, were third.

Ex-Panthers Richard Greer and Mervyn Hill, who both raced in the first-ever meeting in 1970, also attended along with most of the club’s officials.
