MICK Poole will get back on his bike at Peterborough’s opening meeting of the new season.
The Panthers legend has asked to ride a couple of farewell East of England Showground laps.
Mick, who hasn’t been able to race since he broke his thigh for a fourth time several years ago, will be in Britain for the opening weeks of the campaign which gets underway on Monday, March 15.
He will have returned home to Australia by the time the club’s 40th Anniversary Festival takes place so fans will have their chance to say farewell in the opener.
Mick told e-magazine Inside Track: “I’ve not been on a bike since the last accident – but I would love to do a couple of laps, probably for the last time.
“Unfortunately I won’t be able to get over in June because I’ve got family and work commitments during the summer but this is a wonderful opportunity to ride round at the Showground.”
