RICKY’S A STAR
PETERBOROUGH’S young Australian capture Ricky Wallace has joined Premier League champions King’s Lynn on loan.

The 21-year-old Sydneysider has been officially unveiled as the final member of the side that will defend the title.

Wallace, 21, was snapped up by the Readypower Panthers earlier this winter and has already arrived in this country.

King’s Lynn decided to bring him in when a move for Alex Davies, son of ex-Peterborough skipper Stephen Davies, fell through.

Wallace is also a member of Lewis Bridger’s pits crew and turned down the chance of signing for National League Weymouth because their Friday race night would have clashed with a lot of Lewis’ commitments and his own opportunities to have regular rides at the East of England Showground.

Wallace is a British passport holder so is eligible to come into the Stars’ line-up on a three-point average and can also compete in the National League.

He admitted: “I didn’t expect to be in the Premier League straight away so it’s a terrific chance for me.”

Peterborough Director of Speedway Peter Oakes added: “As soon as King’s Lynn asked about his availability we spoke with Ricky and he is up for the challenge.

“It is definitely in our interests for him to get as much experience as he can and we know he will be looked after by King’s Lynn.”
