OLD BOYS RETURN
ULRICH Ostergaard and Ales Dryml will be back at the Showground on Monday…racing against their old teammates!

The former Panthers, who are still club assets, will ride for the 40th Anniversary Select in the season’s opener (7.30pm).

They join a powerful looking opposition squad, spearheaded by World Champions Jason Crump and Nicki Pedersen.

The two men who have dominated the Grand Prix series in recent years – between them they have won six out of the last seven titles – will provide a tough opener for the Readypower Panthers.

With Czech Republic ace Matej Kus and Poland’s World Cup gold medallist Krzysztof Kasprzak also in the opposition pits it will be a mighty task for Peterborough to begin the new season with a victory.

Youngster Lasse Bjerre, 16, has been included in the Panthers’ line-up at reserve – he will partner winter signing Krzysztof Buczkowski – and there’s also a welcome re-appearance for old favourite Jasper B. Monberg.

It’s a swift Alwalton return for 30-year-old Dryml who had two spells at the club last season either side of a brief stint at Poole.

He’s without an Elite League team spot this year and so is 28-year-old Dane Ostergaard who hasn’t worn the red and black since the end of 2007.

He spent 2008 with Reading – topping the Premier League averages – and was on loan at Belle Vue last year.
