TROY Matthew BATCHELOR
Age: 22.
Born: August 29, 1987, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Peterborough's big winter signing, joining the Readypower Panthers on a full transfer from Elite League rivals Swindon.

The Australian international - who made his Speedway World Cup debut in last summer's Race Off round in Poland - ended the 2009 campaign in spectacular fashion while on loan at Ipswich.

In his last five official matches for the Witches (four of them away) he scored a massive 73 points, averaging 9.73.

First came to this country to join Premier League King's Lynn in 2005 and made an instant impact, going on to make his Elite League debut the following season.

Moved from the Stars to Swindon in 2009, initially on loan, but became a full-time Robins asset towards the end of last season.

Broke his elbow on May 21 and couldn't regain his team place as the Wiltshire club retained his replacement Matej Zagar for the rest of the season. Joined Ipswich on July 6 at the East of England Showground after recovering.

Finished runner-up in this winter's Australian Championship behind Chris Holder even though he won two of the three rounds.

A last round fifth place saw him pipped by one point by the former title-winner although Troy actually beat him on each of the five occasions they met during the Grand Prix-style series.

Peterborough Debut: Has not yet ridden for club.
